SEVENDUST Singer On Next Album: 'The Writing Process Is About To Start Right Now'
April 1, 2019SEVENDUST singer Lajon Witherspoon has confirmed to Australia's Loud that the band has begun collecting ideas for the follow-up to last year's "All I See Is War" album.
"We're going to get our feet wet a little bit and figure out a direction," he said. "Morgan [Rose, drums], John [Connolly, guitar] and I will start and we'll lock up in a studio for three or four days and see what we come up with, and then we'll do the same with Clint [Lowery, guitar] later. The writing process is about to start right now. John's actually sent me four songs already, so it's exciting."
One of the hardest-touring bands in rock today, the members of SEVENDUST make time to meet up and create while at home, while also finding ways to write while out on the road.
"Everyone brings out their little rigs so they can write, so there's always something going on with music," Witherspoon said.
Lowery recently told Audio Ink Radio that SEVENDUST didn't "want to wait a long time" before returning to the studio. "We'll probably end up recording a new record at the end of this year," he said. "We already have ideas kind of floating around for it."
"All I See Is War" was released in May 2018. It marked the group's first album for Rise Records, the Oregon-based metal and hard rock label which was purchased by BMG in 2015.
So far, SEVENDUST has released four singles and videos from "All I See Is War": "Dirty", "Not Original", "Medicated" and "Risen".
